IDES & Attorney General Crack Down on Unemployment Fraud
Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and IDES today announced charges against nine defendants, alleging they defrauded the state when they fraudulently collected more than $200,000 in unemployment benefits, including one defendant who was incarcerated at the time he received the benefits.

Illinois Employment Security Offices Closed to Honor President Holidays on Feb. 12 and Feb. 17
IDES will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 12 and Monday, Feb. 17 in observance of state and federal holidays. Although IDES offices will be closed, services will be available online. Individuals can apply for unemployment benefits, certify for benefits which is necessary to receive payment, and switch method of payment to direct deposit. Benefit payments might be delayed for those either certifying on Feb. 12 or 17 or receiving payments on those days.
