Job Description A person licensed by the department to practice dietetics. Dietetics includes all aspects of nutrition care for individuals and groups, including, but not limited to, nutrition assessment, nutrition counseling, nutrition education, nutrition services, and medical nutrition care. Activities of a licensed dietitian do not include the medical differential diagnosis of the health status of an individual.

  1. Graduate from an approved bachelor's degree program in human nutrition, foods and nutrition, dietetics, food systems management, or nutrition education;
  2. Proof of 900 hours of supervised experience with an approved supervisor, or proof of current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Repeats Yes-After three failures, applicant must complete six semester hours of dietetic coursework.

Application Fee $100.00 by examination and acceptance of examination; $200.00 by endorsement

Renewal Fee $100.00 every two years
Reinstatement Fee $25.00 plus payment of all lapsed renewal fees
License Period Two years (All licenses expire on October 31 of each odd-numbered year.)
