Education/Experience
  1. A course of instruction, prerequisite to professional training in a liberal arts college;
  2. Official transcript and certification from a chiropractic college accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of the Council of Chiropractic Education for all graduates after 08/19/81.
Exam National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE). Three parts: I. Basic Sciences (6 subject exams) II. Clinical Sciences (6 subject exams) III. Clinical Competency Exam, Exam given by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners; 1610 29th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80631; (303) 356-9100.

Passing Criteria An equated score of 375 on each exam
Repeats Yes. Parts I and II may be taken three times within three years; after the third repeat, additional schooling is required to re-qualify for the examination. Part III has no limit on retakes.
Continuing Education The Act requires 150 hours of continuing education per license renewal cycle.

Reinstatement Fee $100.00 Plus all lapsed renewal fees; not to exceed $700.00
License Period All licenses expire July 31, and every three years thereafter regardless of date of issuance.
Reciprocity/Endorsement Yes.
  1. Endorsement applicant must be a graduate of a chiropractic program reputable and in good standing in the judgment of DPR at the time of graduation;
  2. Submit certification of licensure for the state of original licensure;
  3. Requirements for registration in the state of original licensure were at that time substantially equivalent to the requirements then in effect in Illinois.
