Federal EUC Ends Dec. 28
November 20, 2013 - Federal jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed ends in December.
Individuals receiving unemployment insurance for more than 26 consecutive weeks likely are paid on the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program. EUC ends Dec. 28.
EUC is paid after an individual uses all available state Regular Benefits. Individuals are mailed letters stating when they move from Regular Benefits to EUC. Individuals also will be mailed letters stating the EUC program will end. When it does, the final payments typically will be made in the first or second week of January.
The Regular Benefit program continues.
State agencies are working together to deliver services to unemployed Illinois workers. Access to services for basic needs such as job training, food, clothing and shelter are located at www.ides.illinois.gov/assistance.
