March Jobs Decline -1,800 in Illinois

​4/16/15 - The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) announced today that Illinois’ unemployment rate in March held steady at 6.0 percent.  The state’s unemployment rate is slightly higher than the national unemployment rate reported for March, which also was unchanged from the prior month at 5.5 percent.  Nonfarm payroll employment shed -1,800 jobs, based on preliminary data released by the Department and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Unemployment Rates Drop in All Metro Areas – Job Growth Uneven

​3/31/15 - ​February was the twelfth month in a row that​ unemployment rates fell in every metro area in the state compared to a year ago, according to preliminary data released today by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Rates also fell in all 102 counties for the eleventh consecutive month and the twelfth time out of the past fourteen months. Not seasonally adjusted data compares February 2015 with February 2014.

Need Your 1099?

2/18/15 - If you collected unemployment insurance in 2014, you will need the 1099-G tax form from IDES to complete both your federal and state tax returns.​

The 1099-G tax form was made available in January 2015, but if you did not register for the email notification, the 1099-G tax form was mailed to your home.

If you have not received your 1099-G, please see the instructions for logging in.  Individuals who created a username and password, but have not used the account within the last 90 days, should create a new password. 

Individuals who have not created a username and password to manage their account will be prompted to do so followed by instructions on how to print the document from IDES' website.
