Unemployment Falls in All Metros for Seventh Consecutive Month

​11/16/14 - October unemployment rates fell in every metro area for the seventh consecutive month and most are at six or seven year lows, according to preliminary data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security. The rate also fell in 101 counties and was unchanged in Mercer County.

October Unemployment Unchanged at 6.6 Percent

​11/20/14 - The October unemployment rate in Illinois was 6.6 percent, unchanged from September, and down from 9.1 percent one year ago, according to preliminary data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and IDES.

211,900 Help Wanted OnLine Ads in October

11/17/14 - ​Illinois employers posted more than 211,900 help wanted ads on the internet in October and 85 percent sought full-time workers, the Illinois Department of Employment Security said today, citing the independent Conference Board report. The data is seasonally adjusted.

Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule
